Welcome to the Scrap Lovers Retreat!
This is no ordinary retreat! This is going to be a very special experience. We are lucky enough to have some amazing teachers for this event. We will have classes from Danelle Johnson, Kristi Sikora-Blankenship and Caroline Lau. We will also be joined by Melodee Langworthy!
After taking a CKU Album class with Danelle and Melodee I knew I had to host a retreat where more scrappers could have a chance to interact with these incredible women.
Then there are the sponsors. We are so lucky to be working with so many incredible companies. Here are just a few of the incredible companies we will be working with...Hambly, Tattered Angels, Hero Arts, American Crafts, Cosmo Cricket, Strano Ribbon and MORE. These companies are suppling us with goodies for all of our scrappers...so in addition to the cool and innovative classes there will be lots of give-a-ways throughout the event!
The other unique thing about our event is that we are keeping it small! We will only have a total of 100 scrappers. We have been to events where there are hundreds of students in a class room and it just doesn't work! We want you all to learn, create, grow and have fun!!
By the time the retreat is over you will have completed more than 10 projects and a few mini albums and a home decor project! Plus you will have a goodie bag filled with more than $100 worth of FREE extras!
You will learn some amazing fun and simple techniques to inspire you and nourish your creative spirit!
We are offering unique hands-on workshops...every student will be able to take all of the workshops! We don't want anyone to miss out on any of these amazing classes.
All project materials will be provided for you. You will need to bring your basic tools and adhesives. However, if you don't want to pack any supplies the Scrap Lovers store will be on site so you can get the basics and more.
Class Descriptions - the descriptions will be added as soon as we receive them from the teachers.
The Good Life...with Danelle Johnson
In the craziness of everyday life, I truly enjoy looking back at the things that really matter to me, that make me smile and remind me why life is really so good. When I get the chance to design a class that matters, this is truly what I think is important. We all need a reason to smile and we want to be sure that the “good stuff” is remembered.
In this workshop, we’re going to compile those things in to a series of custom mini books with acrylic covers that can highlight pieces of your “good life.” We’re going to create without rules and without stress and enjoy the process and each other. We’re going to print a stack of photos that are truly special to us and compile them in to a series of lap books that you will want to keep out where you can see often.
We’ll use the “brand new” Creative Café products (felt, chipboard and buttons oh MY!) and I’ll be bringing some fresh ideas for adding your own personal message to your mini books. So you’ll get to experiment with fun new products with Melodee and myself, but most of all you will enjoy the time and the process spent reliving the “joy” of your good life.
(We’ll have a few homework and photo planning details to send each of you who enroll)

Maya Road Banner Class
Get started with your holiday decorating with a
Maya Road banner class! We will be playing with old vintage papers
straight out of some engineering books from the 60s and 70s as well as
glitter, Daisy D's papers, Maya Road ribbons and more! You will leave
with a banner that you can hang in your home for the holidays and it
will also function as a beautiful mini album to capture your memories.
All materials except for basic supplies will be provided.
Come to chat and learn with Caroline from Maya Road. We will have lots of fun giveaways also in the class!
Here is a Sneak Peek of the class...
Getting It Together….with Kristi Sikora-Blankenship
Remembering what matters, and creating a path to getting those things done…not only learn Kristi's amazing methods but you will have a chance to create an album using one of the new Creative Cafe mini-books.
This class will have a basis of getting yourself organized not so much in your physical supply stash, but in your mind – in what you want to create, why you want to create it, and steps to outline how you can get those things done.
This is an overview of what matters to you, and how you can get back to really creating pages and projects that make you feel incredible – no matter what your creativity level is that particular day. If you miss the moment, a lot of times it could be gone forever, and I want to help you simply capture your day to day and other things that matter to YOU. This class is very real, brutally honest, and will be faced paced…. Take a breath, drink some caffeine if you want to, and come ready to explore where you are, and where you want to be.
We will finish the class by PLAY PLAY PLAYING as you begin to create one of three album concepts using a NEW Creative Café journal album.
Creative Evening Sessions
The fun doesn't end with the classes! There will be an "opening night" event that you will not want to miss.
And, on Saturday there will be another evening event as well!
Here are just a few of the projects from the evening sessions!!
